International Sales Executive

32–40 hours per week, start date in consultation, hybrid (with office in Groningen, NL)

Where will you work?

Spheer is a startup specializing in artificial intelligence for satellite and other geospatial data. Our mission is to make satellite monitoring simpler, cheaper and faster, so that it becomes accessible to any organization with a spatial responsibility.

Our flagship product is Carto, a SaaS web application that enables organizations to develop their own monitoring solutions for large areas. Carto is fast, scalable, and designed for users without a technical background. Spheer is one of the first companies worldwide to successfully develop a foundation model on satellite video and apply it in a commercial platform.

In the Netherlands, Carto is already successfully used by governments, provinces, and environmental organizations. The next step is international expansion — and that's where you come in!

We are a young and ambitious company with a small but growing team (currently ~10 people). Our team includes experts in AI, software development, and product design. What would be your role?

We’re looking for an International Sales Executive to help bring Carto to international markets.

In this role, you will be responsible for identifying, opening, and developing new markets for Carto, with an initial focus on public-sector organizations outside the Netherlands. You understand how public procurement processes work, you grasp the internal dynamics of government institutions, and you know how to identify and convince the right decision-makers.

  • You identify opportunities and reach out to relevant public sector organizations across Europe and beyond.
  • You lead strategic conversations and position Carto as a solution to their monitoring or reporting needs.
  • You manage the full sales cycle: from first contact to negotiation and implementation.
  • You contribute to market strategies, pricing models, and product adaptations needed for international adoption.
  • You maintain relationships with existing clients and partners and build a network in relevant domains.
Who are you?
  • You have at least 3 years of experience in international sales or business development, preferably in the public sector.
  • You have experience selling B2G or B2B SaaS products, and understand how to position a software solution to policymakers, procurement teams, and end users.
  • You understand how governments operate, are familiar with procurement processes, and are comfortable navigating public-sector dynamics.
  • You have proven knowledge of or strong affinity with the monitoring or geodata domain.
  • You are commercially minded, strategic, and independent.
  • You speak and write fluent English; fluency in German or French is a strong plus.
